The Worthy Prez sez…. November, the month for giving thanks for our many blessings. And thankful we are, for our ambitious and talented members in both the Aerie and Auxiliary. The newly re-modeled kitchen is in the final stage of completion and it is a showcase. This project has been completed in record time as a result of every ones efforts. We also realized a considerable cost savings with the efforts of our volunteers. We can all be proud. Be sure to check out our website. This has also been developed by a few of our members and is very impressive. Thanks to all who have worked on this project. I have been in contact with other Aeries to have some inner-club activities during the coming months to support our charities. Notices will be posted when we get these developed. Again, I say thanks for making our club so successful. Hope to see you at the meetings. "People Helping People." For a century, the FRATERNAL ORDER of EAGLES has been a major influence Internationally, Nationally, Regionally, in our States and Provinces, AND most of all..... in our communities. It was the EAGLES who started Mothers Day, who provided the impetus for Social Security, who ended job discrimination based on age. Who've built training centers all over the world. Who raise millions of dollars every year to combat heart disease and cancer. Help handicapped kids, uplift the aged and otherwise make life a little brighter for people not as lucky and blessed as we are. We uphold and nourish the values of Home, Family and Community that are so necessary and it seems so often today, so ignored and trampled in society. We're home town builders. We support our police and firefighters and others who protect and serve us. We fund research in areas such as Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, Diabetes and Cancer. We help raise money for neglected and abused children and for the aged..... we are the Eagles, and we are People Helping People. We're volunteers and have fun volunteering. Our praises have been sung by Presidents and Prime Ministers, but still today too many people wonder 'WHO ARE THE EAGLES?" It's time to get out the word, WE ARE THE EAGLES! For 100 years we have been leaders in the effort to make the world a brighter and better place for everyone. | The Madam Prez sez... Thanks to all who helped in anyway with the work party lunches. The men were very appreciative. Thanks also to the ladies who helped pack and scrub, it was a job well done. Our new kitchen will be great and all who helped in anyway can take pride in the fact that they contributed. With the kitchen being renovated, we've all suffered some inconveniences, but with a little patience the end result will be well worth it. The bar staff has had to put forth an extra effort to try and keep food available to our members, they deserve a big pat on the back as well as an extra gratuity now and then. We've been trying to set up a Euchre challenge with Gladwin, finding an open date has been the problem, but it will happen-----watch for further information. The Auxiliary will be holding a raffle to be drawn on Dec. 13th. Prizes include a 19" Color TV, a DVD player and a Basket of Cheer. Tickets will be available soon. Harvest Dinner will be Nov. 15th. It's always a great affair. We'll also be having a Bake Sale that day. If anyone can help in anyway or contribute to the bake sale, please watch for sign-up sheets to be posted. We've had a rash of health problems amongst our Auxiliary members and to all who have been ill or have ill family members, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Remember it's the members who make the Club what it is. Support and Volunteers are what make us so GREAT!!!!! New faces are always welcome at meetings, new volunteers are always welcome at Club functions! Have a Great Month!! Toni McCarthy Madam President Aren’t the fall colors beautiful.
