The Worthy Prez sez….
Winter is just about over and Spring will soon be upon us. It won’t be much longer before we start welcoming back all of our snowbirds to Secord Lake.
As many of you know by now, the beef stew dinner supporting the President’s charity, Special Olympics, was a complete sell out. Thanks to our chairperson, Diane Williams, along with our stew chefs, Bill Dawson & Gary McGrath, and the many volunteers. The Winter Fun Run was also quite successful with everyone wondering when the next one will happen! Thanks to Pat Halloran, Jim Monroe, Terry Gorgon & Vaughn Fickies. Also, thanks to all of volunteers, and the local establishments for their participation and contributions.
The St. Patrick’s Day party had an excellent turnout and everyone who attended had a great time. Thanks to Mary Grayson and her crew, as well as the kitchen crew for all of their efforts.
Our Camel Races were again a great success! Thank you to our chairpersons Larry & Pat Santamour and Jim & Norene Cooper and to all the workers and sponsors for their support.
Our next monthly Euchre tournament is scheduled for April 20th. Please remember to check out the calendar, outdoor signs and table tents for dates and times of our upcoming events.
Please remember our Aerie meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Saturday’s beginning at 9:30 a.m., and I hope to see you there.
Please keep our members experiencing health problems and our Military men & women in your thoughts and prayers for their safe return home.

Sincerely,

Curt Wingate
Worthy President

Aerie Chaplain Report
Get well cards were sent to the following brothers, Dale Knaffel, Jim Gibson and Ruyal Looney, please remember to keep these people in your prayers and hope that they get well soon.
As spring time approaches and the grass turns green, the birds begin to chirp and the sky turns blue, keep in mind the people that are away from their homes protecting our homes and pray for peace and their safe return home.
GOD BLESS AMERICA

Dave Huggard, Aerie Chaplain

GOOD FRIDAY SMELT DINNER
We are adding a “Smelt Dinner” for Good Friday, April 6th. The price will be $5 but it will not be all you can eat. For those who prefer our regular fish we will be serving that also at our normal prices. We are trying something new and aren’t sure how many people will be eating the smelt, so please get there early and be understanding if we run out. Thank you,
Pat & Pete

Pastie Bake & Sale
Pasties are now on sale and can be ordered thru April 16th at the bar. They are $2.50 each and should be paid for when ordered. They may be picked up on or after April 24th. Fred Marszlek

FUN RUN RESULTS
The Fun Run was a great success despite the lack of snow and colder temps for the snowmobilers. There’s already talk of next year and how me might make this event even better. Thank you again to all our supporters and the stops—Elk Lake Bar, Secord Lake Bar, The Camp & Lost Arrow Resort—for their generous donation of prizes. Also I’d like to thank Dean Hasnik for programming the juke box to play for free that nite. We have people talking about organizing a like event for pontoons this summer on the river. Sounds like fun!!!!!!!!

Think Spring Ladies !!!!!

The Madam Prez sez…
I think the weather has broke, and spring has sprung, and summer is just around the corner. With the warm weather, as we clean out cobwebs for spring cleaning, our minds began to think of fresh ideas, like “tape the Presidents to the wall” on May 12th from 5-7 PM. The cost is $1.00 per strip, a pretty cheap way to tape Curt and I to the wall. All proceeds go to Special Olympics. I thank you as I know Curt does for all your ideas, and support.
We are planning to clean the kitchen and the date is yet to be determined. Kathy Halloran is chairing this event, and all questions should be directed her way. Thank you Kathy. May 6th begins our 1st Country Breakfast 8-11 A.M., May 8 Auxiliary meeting 7 P.M., May 11 Fish Fry 5-8, May 12 “Tape the Presidents to the wall” & moonlight darts, May 13 is the Mother’s Day Breakfast, May 18 last euchre tournament. Thank you Bob & Dixie Town for all your support on these tourneys. May 20 District meeting in Tawas @ 1 P.M., May 25 Fish Fry 5-8, May 26 Auxiliary meeting at noon.

Stephanie Manick
Madam President

Hoping and praying that you all have a happy and healthy month. Remember to pray for our members or their families who are ill and our armed forces women & men who are fighting for our freedom.
