The Worthy Prez sez….

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The committee chairpersons and their helpers of the following activities did an excellent job this past month: The Michigan – Michigan State game, the annual Harvest Dinner & bake sale, and our monthly Team Euchre tournament. Thank you to all who supported and helped with these functions.
On Saturday, December 22nd, the Board of Trustees will host the annual Christmas party to show their appreciation for your support all year long. All members are encouraged to attend and enjoy great food and entertainment. Our New Year’s Eve Party will again this year be open to all members. If you’d like, please bring a dish to pass.
As you may have noticed, the Website is once again being managed by our webmaster, Dwight Dennings. As usual, an excellent job! Please remember to check out our website, the outdoor signs and the table tents for upcoming events.
As 2007 comes to a close, (can you believe it?) I want to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers, workers, committee chairpersons, and our Aerie and Auxiliary membership for all that you’ve done. Without each and every one of you, we could not be the Aerie we are today!
Please remember to keep our members having health problems as well as those who are traveling along with our Military men & women in your thoughts and prayers for their safe return home.
I would like to wish all of you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Healthy & Prosperous New Year. Please be good to yourselves and each other.
Sincerely,

Curt Wingate
Worthy President

Harvest Dinner a Big Success
The annual Harvest Dinner was a great success made possible by one of the best crews we've ever had.  The people who cooked, sold 50/50 tickets, sold dinners, set up and cleaned up, and the servers, you all know who you are and I can't begin to tell you how much you were appreciated.  Thanks to all who came in to eat, there were about 200 of you and we received many, many compliments.  Thank you to all who made the dinner such a big success.

Comerica Park Baseball Trip
Yes, the time is just around the corner to start planning another great baseball trip. We have a few changes (for the better) like lots of great prizes, etc. Everyone had such a great time last year. Keep posted on future plans in the newsletter.

 The Madam Prez sez…

With fall almost gone and winter on its way, this year has seemed to fly by so fast. With each function, benefit, dinner, activity, and bus trip we have proven to all that, even though we may not always like each other, we do always love each other as brothers, as sisters, and as Eagles. We have always come together as a family.
Toni McCarthy as co-chairperson took over the Harvest Dinner for Leona and what a great job she has done, with proceeds going to help Dave & Leona Huggard’s son and family in their time of need. Please send lots of prayers to them and their family. For all that Dave and Leona have done for our Aeries as Past Presidents, members, and just plain good hearted people they need to know they are not alone. When they walk through the sands of time let them see many foot prints as we walk alongside of them – footprints of love.
Keep love in your hearts to start a chain reaction. Trust me it will spread, with a smile, a kind word or actions.

Auxiliary Chaplain’s Report
The weatherman is predicting snow, it must be winter. We hope everyone has a safe holiday.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Leona and Dave Huggard. Their son Ken was in a very serious accident.  Get well cards were sent to Olgie Callahan and Joyce Zietz.
Thinking of you cards were sent to Dee Dudzic, Jill Goodemoot, Sharon Cohoon, Judy Wambeke, Cathy Marker, Wendy Jakey and Leona Huggard. A sympathy card was sent to Deb Lewis whose father, Zeke Sanborn passed away.
A sympathy card was sent to Karla Fox , whose father-in-law passed away.........Sheryl Leonard, owner of Edna Maes Leisurely Living Adult Foster care, is expanding. They provide a great service to our community. If you have any small dressers or twin beds to get rid of, call Sheryl at 426-6659.   Please let us know of any member that needs a card.   Our club needs your support during the winter. Don't forget the fish fries. December's fish fry is the 14th.  Thanks and good health to you.

Secondary Games of Chance
*New at the Eagles*:  A Second Chance Drawing using Charity Game Tickets, or as some of us call them,  Rip-Off tickets.   On December 1st, we will be starting our Second Chance Drawing using the new *Betty Boop* 50 cent ticket *only*. There will be a  canister on the bar for you to put your $1.00 *winning ticket*, along with your *name and phone number* on the ticket.  We will hold a drawing the last day of the month, between the hours of 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.  The name drawn will win the total value of all the tickets in the canister.  As a winner you will have 14 days to claim your prize.  Of course, you still have the option of cashing your $1 winner, instead of entering it in the Second Chance Drawing. This will be a monthly drawing.  Come and play with us.  Buy the 50 cent Betty Boop ticket, if it's a $1 winner, instead of cashing it in, put your name and phone number on the ticket, put it in the canister, and hopefully you will be the lucky winner of the value of all tickets in the canister.  Good Luck and hope you enjoy playing.
