| The Worthy Prez sez…. What a winter season we’ve had at Secord Lake! Since our last newsletter, many activities occurred, and several more are planned for the upcoming months. On January 27th, the Wertz Warriors along with Mark “The Bird” Fydrich revisited our Aerie and were presented a check that represented the final installment on behalf of the Aerie & Auxiliary Presidents charity from last year, Special Olympics of Michigan (SOMI). There are several autographed Eagle hats that will be auctioned in the coming months. The team euchre tournament chaired by Bob Town on February 15th was successful. On March 1st, our next Fun Run will take place. What a great time the February Fun Run was, and thanks to Jim Munro, Pat Halloran, Vaughn Fickies, and Terry Gorgon along with our kitchen crew and various sponsors. As usual, we will be serving Rueben sandwiches on Friday, March 14th, and our full corned beef & cabbage dinner during the St. Patty’s Day party on Saturday, March 15th. We hope you can attend all of these functions. For additional details, check out the website calendar, table tents & outdoor signs. Our Aerie business meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Saturday’s beginning at 9:30 a.m., and I hope to see you there. Be good to yourselves and each other. Thank You From District 12 I would like to thank everyone who helped by donating items or their time for the District 12 Auction on Saturday, February 23, 2008. A good time was had by all. The money will be used to help with improvements to the Michigan Recreation Center. Thanks again everyone. Auction Chairperson Larry Robinson !!! Attention Members !!! | | The Madam Prez sez… I think we are all feeling those winter blues by now and the club has lots of ways to beat them. Monday nights starting at 7 PM we have open darts and euchre, Tuesdays at 1 PM open euchre, and Wednesday & Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM there’s Early Bird Bingo. Come join in with the wacky, crazy Al and Phyllis and Gary’s delicious cooking. Every 2nd and 4th Friday we have a Fish Fry with karaoke, 3rd Fridays host a euchre tournament, and every other Saturday we have DJ Curt spinning the tunes. We are also looking for a few good people to chair events – as you know we are about people helping people, but in order to help people we need to hold functions to raise money. As you have seen in the past our Eagle members come out of the woodwork to help on any function, because we all as a family have a common goal to help! Been spendin a bunch a time on my computer durin these cold winter months. I luv the "Redneck" e-mails. Ya know.. You might be a redneck if you think a subdivision is part of a math problem, you think loading the dishwasher means getting your wife drunk, you and your dog use the same tree, or you jump in the lake to bathe (Can't do that right now - the fishin hole froze over!) Anyhow I wuz thinkin, you might be a redneck if you go dumpster diving to decorate for this year's annual boat parade! After some careful consideration and a fifth of Jack Daniels (he's on my list of America's most admired people), I have decided this year's theme to be "Redneck Yacht Club". More news will follow, but for now put on those thinkin caps or Nascar hats, and get creative! See y'all next month! Barbie J Camel Races Just a reminder, Camel Races are scheduled for April 19th, doors opening at 7:00 PM and the first race starting at 8:00. Come in and cheer for your favorite camels. Persons interested in sponsoring a camel can call Norene Cooper @ 426-2809 or Larry Santamour @ 426-2297. Come One – Come All Exercise every Monday, Wednesday and non Fish Fry Fridays at 8:30 AM. Come sweat with us to the Oldies in the banquet room. Summer will be here before you know it, so let’s get in shape for that bathing suit. Any questions call Sue Stevens @ 345-8625.
