The Worthy Prez sez….
Wow, what a year! It has been a privilege and pleasure to have served as
President of the Best Aerie in all the Eagles. I would like to thank all the
officers for their help as everyone knows we had a rough winter. Thanks to all
my committee chairs for their help and a special thanks to Leona and the ladies
Auxiliary. Leona and I chose the same charity, I-Care, and together we rose over
$1,500. Thanks again to all who helped with everything.
In closing, please keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Tom Harris
Worthy President

Berberick Benefit Thank You
I want to thank the Eagles for their support and help with the benefit for Wayne
Berberick May 9th. We had a huge turnout which ended in a very successful night
to help a member of our community. A lot of people care about Wayne and it
showed in how much they opened their hearts.
We had a spaghetti dinner for 300 and we sold it all. All food was donated by
friends. We had help from several eagle members who worked along side of us. The
auction did extremely well. Thanks to all the people and businesses who donated
items.
It was a fun night and for a good cause. Please keep Wayne in your prayers as he
continues to fight his cancer.
Thank you so much to all that helped and the wonderful things that they Eagles
do to help our community. Sincerely, Christy Ruppel |

The Madam Prez sez…
Hi, as my term of Madam President is about to expire, I would like to thank all
of the people who helped make this past year successful, it was a with a happy
heart that I saw both the men and the women working together for the best of the
club, when I think of all that we have done this past year, Valentines steak
fry, Mexican dinner, Harvest Dinner, Euchre Games, fun times at other clubs,
Ouga trips, and of course, my special project, THE POLISH FEST, what fun and
really hard work that was!, for all the other projects and special things like
the kids Christmas party, Easter Breakfast with the bunny, and helping the needy
at Christmas time and the Mothers Day corsages for the ladies in the nursing
home, and I could go on and on..... I THANK YOU ALL!
On a more serious note, we still need a president for the auxiliary, we need
people to step up to the plate and take charge, we all work together (well
almost always) for the best of the club.......think about it, has your time come
to take the reigns?

Hello! Our kitchen got an intense cleaning re-
cently. The deck also was power washed by a few good men. The smoke eaters also
were cleaned. If you helped you deserve a big thank you from all members. The
yard was cleaned too. A few good auxiliary gals did a great job outside too.
Thanks.
Get well cards were sent to Diane Williams, Betty Ankney, Marlene Eckert, Judy
St. Louis and Joann Coone. Thinking of you cards went to Karen Hortienne, Leona
Huggard, Teresa Johnson, Mary Carter, Pam Allen and Marlene Johnson. Sympathy
cards went to Tomma Colston, Karen Wildbore and Euretha Richez. I hope everyone
has a safe summer.
Thanks,

Donation & Letter of Thanks
I would like to donate a $100.00 check to the building fund in Russ Norton’s
name in appreciation of his widening a doorway and building a ramp so I can get
Jim and his wheel chair outside in this nice weather. Thanks again, Russ.
Sincerely,
Bernice & Jim Tuttle
Trustee’s Corner
I’d like to share a few reminders for our membership. Children must leave Social
Room by 11PM. With summer arriving please remember that proper attire should be
worn at all times. No bathing suits are allowed, so please wear a cover-up when
entering the Aerie.
Remember we do not have an ATM machine or accept credit or debit cards. We
gladly accept cash and checks.
We have extra pasties for sale @ $3.00each. Please see the bar staff to
purchase.
And speaking of the staff, please be patient with them during busy times,
especially when trying to redeem winning Charity Game tickets. Customer’s food
and drink orders are a priority.
Work Parties
Russ Norton is our building committee chairman and has requested that all
able-bodied men—and women– to remember that we’ve set aside the 2nd Wednesday of
each month for a “Work Bee” at 8 AM. If you know of maintenance or repairs that
need to be done around the club, please note them on the “repair list” in the
secretaries hallway or let someone and officer or bar staff person notate it. If
you can join us on those dates, grab some gloves, tools, or whatever you think
is needed and come on out.
If those mornings are too early for you or inconvenient you can always do your
part at your leisure or convenience if there’s a fix-up or repair that you feel
comfortable with. Just let someone know what you did and when.
Thanks from Russ & the BOT’s

More Trivia to Fill Some Space
The only two days of the year in which there are no professional sports games
(MLB, NBA, NHL, or NFL) are the day before and the day after the Major League
All-Star Game.
"Sleep tight" comes from beds built before the 19th century that were made of
frames of wood that had holes for ropes that were latticed to hold a mattress
(such as they were). There was a wooden peg/pole that could be placed so that it
fitted around the ropes going out and back in on the outside of the bed frame to
tighten the lattice of ropes so the bed would not sag. This was done right
before you got in bed each night.
