It is amazing how quickly the kids learn to drive a car, yet are unable to understand the lawnmower, snowblower or vacuum cleaner

The Madam Prez sez…
Hello Everyone. Labor Day is over and what a great weekend we had!  Both the weather and the festivities were great. I want to say thank you to Carol Nowak and her crew for a successful Steak Fry.  She did a great job and those steaks were over the top.  Coming up this month we have the U of M / State game which always proves to be a fun time.   The Auxiliary will once again host a Polish Fest Dinner on Saturday, October 17, 2009.  Last year the dinner was a great success, and the home made food was delicious.
We will need lots of hands on deck to pull this off, so please put your name on the sign up sheet and help out.  You'll have fun!  On October 18 at 2:00PM,  it is our turn to host the district meeting and dinner for our FOE District 12.  We also need some help with this.  We want to have a good representation from our Aerie and Auxiliary for this meeting and do ourselves proud, so please attend if you are able.  You'll get a nice meal out of it.  Our snow birds will be flying south soon, and I wish you all a safe and healthy winter. Lastly, I would like to thank all of our members who helped to make the summer events such a success.  We couldn't make it happen without volunteers!  We have a GREAT Aerie!

God Bless and Secord Smiles,
Barbie Jozefowicz

Steak Fry
Wow - what a turnout we had for the September 6th steak fry! This was my first time chairing this event and I was surprised how well it went over. Sorry to those who didn’t get to enjoy one as I heard they were pretty yummy!!
Thanks to all those who made a donation and a huge thank you – thank you to the crew who helped out that day. There are too many to mention by name, but you know who you are.
Carol Nowak

Scavenger Hunt / Fun Fun
Although the weather was gloomy & cool, it appears the 50 plus “scavengers” had a good time on August 22nd. I would like to thank all of the “hunters” who participated as well as those who helped me put this function together and kept it running smoothly. We raised $90 from the can & bottle returns to donated to the President’s charity – Hospice of Gladwin County. Keep your eyes open as another hunt is already in the works for this winter!!
