The Worthy Prez sez….
It’s been a terrific summer season at Secord Lake. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to our many functions, including the pontoon scavenger hunt, our monthly euchre tournament, and our annual pig roast, which included the ‘Redneck Horseshoes’ tournament. To our various committee chairs, and the tireless volunteers who help with these events, Thank you!
Don’t forget, our Vegas Night will be held Saturday, September 5th. The next country breakfast will be Sunday, September 6th from 8 ‘til 11 a.m. In addition, the Auxiliary will have another steak fry on September the 6th. There will be a “Retro 80’s Dance Night” on September 19th beginning at 8:00p.m. Please remember to mark your calendars. For additional details, check out the calendar, table tents & outdoor signs.
During these past several months, we have had the opportunity to welcome other Eagle Bus Trips and display our brand of hospitality! I would like to thank the Aerie & Auxiliary Officers, along with our volunteers for their attendance and assistance when our brother and sister Eagles visited. You know they’ll be back!
Please keep our members experiencing health problems and the men and women in our Military in your thoughts and prayers for their safe return home.

Sincerely,
Curt Wingate
Worthy President

Aerie Chaplain Report
A get well card was sent to Ernie Ristau who is in the hospital and has been for some time,  get well soon Ernie, we miss you! (Editor’s note: Ernie passed away just after this was written.)
A sympathy card was sent to Dick Wujcik in the passing of his brother; please keep him in your prayers.
God grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change, the courage to change things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Please remember to pray for our lost brothers and sisters, for peace and for happiness.

Aerie Chaplain

Sunday Darts
Sunday Darts will be starting up again on September 13th at 1:00 p.m.  Every 8 weeks we pay out to the top 2 point winners.  You never lose your points.  This is not a league.  Join us as often as you wish.  We can accommodate 16 players or more when necessary.  Come have fun with us. This is a good way to help pass the winter blahs!!

Secord Women’s Golf Thank You
I would like to thank everyone who helped as well as those ladies that golfed in our outing. We raised $1500 for I-Care. This will help a lot of people in our area. $600 was also donated back to our Eagles. I could not have done this without all the help I get from everyone. My girls work very hard all year long. That would be Debbie, Ann, Nancy, Carla, Karen, Diane and Sandy!!! Without them I would be lost.

Ladies, the by-laws are now open.  If you have any additions or changes you would like in our by-laws, you must turn in your request with three signatures on it, in order for consideration and voting.
Also, the Auxiliary won a used Buick Roadmaster, which they will be auctioning off to the highest sealed bid, with a reserve of $1700.  The car can be seen at the club, and bidding will end on September 30, 2009.  Don't forget as summer winds down, we stay active at the Eagles all year long, so keep an eye on the newsletter for ongoing events.  And by the way on October 3, GO STATE!
