The Madam Prez sez…
It's hard to believe another winter has gone and Spring is quickly taking
it's place. Soon all of our snowbirds will be coming home to warm up! (I just
had to say that - sorry!) Our King and Queen pool tournament was a fun
afternoon, and raised a nice sum of money for our Presidents Charity. Thank you
John and Sue for holding this event. Curt and I took third place, and we don't
shoot pool. Go figure! As usual, fun was had by all at our annual St.
Patrick's Day party. Cudos to Mary Grayson and her crew. April is promising to
have some more good Eagle fun in store for us all. Can't wait to see what Jim
and Norene have cooked up for our "mystery" WII tournament on the 9th. This
should be interesting! Also, on Friday, April 16th, we will be honored with a
visit from our Grand Madam President, Jean Kerr. Accompanying her will be our
State Madam President, Dee Lahnala. If they arrive early enough, they will be
taking a boat ride prior to our rib dinner we are having that evening from 4-8
PM. We will also be having a mystery purse/ basket auction that night, hosted
by Norene Cooper. This should be a fun day, so PLEASE come out and show our
Secord hospitality to our special guests! On the 17th, we will again have
Trivia night. If you missed it the first time around, don't miss it again. We
had a ball! , On the 18th, we have district meeting at Midland, where we will
give Toni McCarthy our support for her nomination as Madam District Chairman.
You go girl! Getting into early May, our Auxiliary meeting has been changed
from the second Tuesday, to the second Saturday which is May 8th. This is
election day for our officers, and we have changed the day only in May, so ALL
Auxiliary ladies may have the opportunity to be here and vote! The fourth
Saturday meeting remains the same. Also on May 8th, we will be celebrating "Ocho
de Mayo" (our version of Cinco de Mayo, but on the week-end so all can enjoy)
with Seniora Stephanie's delicious Mexican Fiesta Dinner. Take care and to all
of our snow birds, have a safe journey home to us.
God Bless and Secord Smiles,
Barbie Jozefowicz

auction item. Drop it off at the Eagles or give to Norene (426-2809). Attach a
"donated by" tag along with an approximate value. This will assist our
auctioneer. Remember to state if it's for a female/male/child (age group). etc.
It was incorrectly stated in the last newsletter that half of the proceeds will
go to the Grand Madam President's Charity (Alzheimers) which in reality is
(diabetes) and half going to our Auxiliary. Sorry for the misinformation. Hope
to see you there and hope you enjoy this first time adventure.

by May 16th. Flags will be displayed from May 27th to June 1st. This event is
open to the public and you do not need to be an Eagle member to sponsor a flag.
We should have information regarding the program for Sunday (May 30th) in the
next
newsletter. If you would like to contribute something to the program or would
like more information please contact Jim/Norene Cooper at 426-2809.
